Ta for that. BTW, I am now officially suffering from chain lube paranoia. Whilst out and about today I have been extremely reticent about giving maximum beanage, in case the effing chain lets go having been coated with satan's jism, and at one stage, I heard a distinctive ping tinkle noise from the rear of the bike, which I immediately took to be the soft link shearing and hitting the chain guard on it's way out. So thanks one and all, that's another bloody thing [1] to worry about. [1] I also parted with £20 for a new rocker cover gasket today. -- Dan L (Oldbloke) My bike 1996 Kawasaki ZR1100 Zephyr Space in shed where NSR125 used to be Spare Bike 1990 Suzuki TS50X (Patio Ornament) BOTAFOT #140 (KotL 2005/6), X-FOT#000, DIAABTCOD #26, BOMB#18 (slow), OMF#11
12000 miles without a single adjustment? Bloody hell, I think I'll be having one of those. Which type have you got on the Triple?

<Googles> I couln't find any info on your electronic version but the manual loobman (http://www.loobman.com/index.html) looks just the job at less than 20 quid and with no pissing about fitting to the carbs etc. It seems you just give the bottle a squeeze every 50 miles or so and you're set. I'm 'avvin one!

*mumble*mumble*fuckingwankers*mumble*mumble* Yes, it was the silver stuff. Looked really nice when you put it on for all of about 5 seconds, until you noticed it dripping onto your lovely black wheels. Then you swear as you try to mop it up but just end up smearing it about a bit and making it worse. Don't worry though, it'll soon disappear after a few miles as it picks up all the shit off the road and fades to black. I think it was still on the RVF's wheels when I eventually sold it to Chris. That bike didn't like aerosols - it was the same one that had the can of tyre weld let go under the seat. I was cleaning that out for *months*
Some people worry too much. Heavens I remember finding out that the clip which holds a chain's spring link together was missing and *still* rode my bike 60 miles. I suppose though, that at that precise point in time I wouldn't have worried greatly if it had offed me.

Aha I knew it. Castrol chain wax rocks. I shall return to it once this can of Gold is done. Perhaps my chain life is benefiting from the fact that from time to time I do get the bike up a stand and use WD40 and some oil rag to wash the crud away. I did use paraffin but was assured that it eats o-rings. The WD is a lot less messy anyway.
Well that's what I found with that Gixxer. I wonder if this is affected by the offset between the swinging arm pivot and the gearbox sprocket. If they are concentric therer is no change in chain tension with suspension movement. IIRC the gixxer is quite close. This B12 seems to have a lot more chain lash. My old XT500 got an aftermarket tensioner wheel it was so bad. In an ideal world they would all be concentric and have MZ250 type rubber guide tubes and enclosures.
