I'm trying to convince Fiona she'd like to go camping and see motorbikes
the week of Aug 30 - Sep 3 [1], its not going well but there's still a
    possibility.

    [1] I've got the right week haven't I?

  3. I had the biggest tank slapper on my KR1S going over a bump on a
straight road doing about sixty. Luckily it was so quick and I was
relaxed it was over before I had chance to panic about it.

  4. There is a difference between a bike wagging its head and a tank
slapper. A TS means the bump stops are broken off and the bars hit the
tank - not really something you ride away from.

  5. Fair enough - very nearly a TS :)

  6. If you aint snapped the lock stops off, you aint had one. Admittedly,
you might ride away from one now and again, but it seems common
parlance on this ng to put every slight shake of the head down as a TS.

I thought for most of the time a sizeable proportion of ukrm were on
    hi-chairs.

I didn't break off the lock stops, but just much bigger did the dents
in the KH250's tank need to be to qualify?

I am quite happy to call it a tankslapper despite the mathematics and
having never really having had one.

I think it helps separate it from what might otherwise be called a bit
of instability under acceleration. Certainly easier on the tongue.

  13. If you paid good money to have your arse slapped, you'd feel a bit
short changed if they didn't actually touch you at all...

Genuine tank slappers happen often enough (IMHO) - there is that lovely
bit of film from the TT in 99 for a start.
    Are you all clean?

  14. Tank dents get an 'honourable mention'.
