Carrying anything on a sports bike - how?

    I haven't tried fitting throwovers to mine with just the Harris hanger
    on.

    I use a tailpack on my 10R. The exhaust is too high to use throwover
    panniers unless you have them so high they'll probably affect
    stability. If you need to carry more than you can get in a tailpack
    then throw some of the shit you're packing back into the wardrobe.

  6. I have a 4'x2' trailer I built for the SOGS. Pulls great, especially
    with a load in. When I came here, for the first couple of years I
    couldn't be arsed using anything but the bikes and that trailer was
    invaluable for lugging bags of coal/shopping/etc.

    I've got a squire D10 that I tow behind the RT (see
    http://www.motorcycle-luggage-trailers.info/). It's not big but it is
    clever!

    Initially, towing is quite odd. I think I've described it a bit like
    riding with a heavy pillion that weighs nothing... You notice the load
    speeding up and slowing down, but round the bends you don't know it's
    there.

    My trailer is slightly narrower than the engine, so if the bike goes
    through a gap, the trailer is sure to follow. It's certainly better than
    loading all of your camping gear etc up high on the bike where it all
    becomes a bit unwieldy.

    Don't forget that you're limited to 60mph even on dual carriageways (see
    http://www.motorcycle-luggage-trailers.info/pr01.htm), can't use the
    outside lane of a motorway, nor tow in Spain.
