I remember a lot of Superdreams with them but I've never ridden a bike
with one, how much effect did it have on the handling? Compared to a
    proper chair?

  5. None at all. I do recall a very small low-speed handlebar shimmy once or
twice but really, it did exactly what it said on the tin.

Mine was hitched to a CD200 Benly.

Eddie in "quicker than Champ" shocker! Film at 11.
I know that, but there's bound to be some awkward sod along to point out
    an exception.

Thanks for all the useful stuff so far.

One question arises, are there any significant problems attaching
    (say) throwover panniers to:-

    GSXR1000 and/or GSXR750
    CBR1000RR

Will the Fireblade be (a bit) easier to add luggage to?

Not with the Gixxer thou. The pillion footrests have hooks, as does
    the rear mudguard/number plate holder

The K3/K4 does, but not the earlier ones and 'm not sure about the K5.

The K5 has them on the pillion footrests, and I think they have
something on the mudguard (if you can call it that) can't quite tell
    from the pictures.

If you like spending money have a look at the Ventura range:-

I'd have thought it rather depends on the exact shape of your panniers and
where the bungee hooks or other attachment points on the bike are.

Really, though, this sort of thing shouldn't enter into any consideration of
which sportsbike to get - just buy the one that you think rocks the most

The Oxford panniers I got have a pad that fits to the seat then the
panniers clip on/off to the pad in seconds. I went for these ones cos
the seat on the CBR is bolted on.
