They were cheap in Makro, so we bought one. Vax PowerJet Pro
or something - about 135 on ebay or anything over 150 everywhere
else, so 99+Vat wasn't too bad.

Got it home, assembled it and gave it a whirl on the badly
stained patch [1] in the lounge. **** me did it work.

Now that bit looks so clean I've got to do the rest. Arse.

So if you're looking for one, it's ace. If you want to
borrow it, come and collect and buy your own solution
    and you're more than welcome.

It's great being on the dole.

[1] Child # 2 decided to empty the entire 4L bottle of
Persil washing liquid onto the carpet. Any attempt at
scrubbing it out just meant plenty of bubbles and not
much else, except a spreading stain.

I did this a few weeks ago to remove a tea stain. The centre of the carpet
looked so clean it made the rest of it look dirty so I had to clean it all.
My settee then looked gruby so I had to wash the covers, then the curtains.

Luckily the walls got repainted less than 3 months ago (damn kids again
with their pens on the walls) and we've got black leather sofas so they
just need a wipe over to remove any unsightly marks.

I argued with the wife for *months* that we would be having black
leather sofas when we bought our furniture, but she wasn't really
keen on the idea at all. In the end she relented and since we've
had kids they really are the best thing ever. Well, since the carpet
    cleaner, obviously.

Hopefully the curtains won't need doing. Maybe replacing them with
    blinds might be an option...

Christ, you can tell I've been stuck at home watching daytime
tv for far too long, can't you!
