    Bit quiet, innit?

I'll drone on about my 'Wing carbs for a while, that should get everyone
    going...

I've just finished fettling the last one. It's a curiously satisfying
job after a while. Putting all those little bits back to within three or
four inches of the right place, watching the ping-fuckits[1] bouncing
off the garage ceiling, blasting shit out of passageways with methanol
    based carb-cleaner.

    Djhd hs sdjs sdd.

Sorry about that, a large purple spider just walked across the
    keyboard... ;^)

Anyway, I now have four slightly less shitty carbs, Dave Silver is
significantly richer, and later today I get to play "Put the bastards
back on and see if it's made any difference". What fun.

Expect a "Whoo-hoo!" post, or a BBC Headline "Man Commits Suicide By
Dropping Large Motorcycle On Own Head".

Indeed. I enjoyed fettling the KH500 carbs so much, I must have done
it four or five times in the end.
    Sounds strangely familiar.

Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, Austin Shackles
The one that caught fire do you mean?

That's a fairly tempting thought at the moment...

It starts (reluctantly) and runs (roughly) on the choke at about 3000
revs. From there it actually revs fairly cleanly. If I try to ride the
thing it bogs down mid-range, unless I push the choke in, but then it
    won't idle...

    <thinks>

Idle mixture too weak? The needles are set 2.5 turns out, which is where
they were, but the new needles are of different design. Hmmm...
