Carb-icing whilst filtering

    It's a right PITA, isn't it?

I thought they were meant to have cured this on the ZX-9R E2, but
apparently not. Damn you, KHI! A pox on you and all your subsidiaries![0]

[0] If anyone from Kawasaki Heavy Industries is reading this: I don't
mean it. Your motorcycles are lovely. If you happen to need someone to
help you investigate carb-icing problems by using it for commuting in
cold, damp weather: I'm your man. Perhaps you could let me try a ZX-10R,
just to make a comparison, eh? Please?

It's a PITA on any bike.

It'd be a pointless comparism, ones a lardy old sports tourer ridden
mainly by girls and the other one's a cutting edge sports bike tried
by girls but judged not suitable.

Pah. If I stuck a Baglux tank bag on a 10R and used it for commuting in
the winter, it'd soon look like a lardy old sports tourer.

Heh, I had mine loaded up with luggage cruising along the French
autoroutes before it was even run in.The difference between the 10R &
the 9R is that as soon as the 10 hit 1000 miles on the odometer I
clutched it up at about 110mph in 3rd gear.

Can you stand the trauma and 'blame culture' of coming to the bosm? I
think we're going up on the Friday so you could nip down, have a rip
on the bike and be gone before anyone else arrived and you got the
blame for everything wrong over the weekend.

Hmmm, there's a thought. I'll try to remember, but I can't plan that far
    ahead at the moment.

Mind, I could do without anything that might encourage me to buy one, so
    maybe I shouldn't.

Best not to have a go then. It'd be like an an evil voice nagging in
your ear until you finally gave in.

Don't you start. I've already got a voice in my head telling me to keep
the 9R as the commuter/winter-hack, and buy a 10R for "best".

Well, there's a GSX600F in there... how "sort of" were you allowing?

That's what I'd have done if I had the cash spare. As it was I did the
next best thing and sold the 9R to Adie.

Hmmm... better than that, I could sell the 9R to Clare, but then I'd
still be able to use it as a winter hack...

I didn't think you'd miss as big a hint as that. If you follow my
route to domestic bliss you'll even get Clare to do the first 500
miles for you if you get a new one.

Close your eyes and say "under £7k for a new 10R". Now open your eyes
and **** off to the dealers to buy one.

No, thought not. It's more in the "get shot of a.s.a.p." category, to be
    honest.
Let them frown, what do they know?

Hmmm... I'm not convinced that Clare would really want a 9R, mind.
No. No, no, no. Must pay off debts first. I'm not listening any more.
