Oi! The "Swami Champ" phase was a while back. It's over, move on.

  4. I thought I heard small bells and smelled the whiff of incense coming
    from somewhere.

No, I'm sure it is Champ. Embalming fluid, that's what it is.

Well I could, but I'd rather use my own transport than any other means
    in getting to an airport.

    Hey, it's what I do.

Coo. that's pretty accurate except for the last sentence; in my opinion
it's much better to get angry at unimportant things and thus vent the
    (general) anger harmlessly.

Anyway... it didn't stop there. On the way home from Platy's all was
well. Got out of car and cooling fan was running, thought nothing of
it. Went out in the morning (to go to the airport) and fan was still
running, well crawling to be closer to the truth. Checked the relay and
this had gone short circuit... fuckers. Pulled the relay to replace it
(everyone's got spare relays, right?) but the thing fell apart.

Took other car to airport, cursing. On the way to the airport the
exhaust fell off... crawled under it on the hardshoulder sacrificing a
half decent silk tie to get me to the airport and get my flight.

    Ho hum.

I happen to disagree with this, I think most people by a certain age
prolly carry a certain amount of anger and frustration. I feel that
dumping it in an outburst at a pointless piece of machinery is better
than letting it go at the source of frustration (generally work).

Still, I *like* having a good rant.

Well... given that Madrid was all meetings and late nights (discussing
boring details over too-long dinners and that Seattle was all meetings,
presentations and negotiating coupled with not-quite-so-late-nights
carrying out lobbying and further side-negotiations business travel
isn't quite all it's cracked up to be.

Still there are some damn fine restaurants in Seattle; I can reccomend
the Metropolitan Grill (if someone else is paying).

Captain. Really. Spend four grand on a Ford Focus. That's less than a
year's car allowance, I'm guessing. It won't let you down.

What he said, or for that matter just about any fairly recent Nissan.

Dunno about that - them Nissans cost a lot in boy racer bits.

Hey, one of the cars is in decent condition.

Even the shite old one I have is basically sound. Fact is that I don't
fancy spending a years car allowance on a car; I'd rather do other stuff
with it. Like spending it on spare silk ties.
