As I said, its the twits who use full beam that are the problem.

Do you have a /rear/ fog light?

That is indeed the light to which the esteemed Colonel was referring,
I believe. High intensity, it is. Bloody bright, it certainly is.

Is that a Colonel add-on or OE?

The Pan came already equipped with it, iirc. Previously owned by an
instructor, it came fitted with all sorts of non-standard gubbins -
    and a lairy stripe job.

What I meant, was it an 'official' fitment?

Fog lights on bikes would be useful in the, ermm, fog [1]. It's just
I've always thought they couldn't be fitted because of the proximity to
    the only brake light.

[1] Would have been quite useful in the rain and spray on the M23 this
morning. Regretted not wearing my proper mask rather than just the
    scarf. Stingey face.

  13. Car Fog lights can be right next to the brake light. In some cases
(Mondeo iirc) the brake lights become the fog lights and the tail
lights become the brake lights when you turn the fogs on.
My Pan has a Bright red light under the no.plate. Its not made as a
fog light, its really a Police High Intensity Red with a Halogen bulb,
but its wired as a fog light. The Honda switch says Fog Light on it.

But, to be fair a higher proportion of motorcycles are ridden well in
excess of the speed limit than cars.

I don't see how you can justify that statement. I can't ride far round
here at or around the speed limit before there is a cage up my arse
desperate to get quickly to the net traffic jam. It rarely, if ever
    happens with other bikes.

Not my experience. Look at any A road at the weekend, the vehicles
going the fastest will always be the bikes.

I agree most motorcycles are well ridden and occasionally they're ridden in
excess of the speed limit too :)

It was only a point! Generally the acceleration he is talking about is
short lived and dazzle should therefore be a momentary problem.
