    Hi All

I passed my DAS three weeks ago and have just returned from my first solo
ride (took a while to find a bike... tax, insurance etc).

But boy was it worth the wait, have been back an hour but still can't get
rid of this dopy looking smiling... it's starting to frighten the kids now !

Can anyone tell me how long it takes for the supercilious grin to disperse,
no doubt the first time I drop the bike will do it.

Just had to share this with someone that may know what the hell I am talking
    about.

    David

It lasts until your bike engine shrinks sufficiently in size that you
    *need* a newer larger one.

I got a Red 1996 Suzuki Bandit 600N in immaculate condition with 9k on the
clock, complete with history, tool kit etc.

Only my first ride but so I'm pleased with it so far.

Thanks for asking, I have this need to tell the world, David

That's great. All you need now is a sig that people can snip like I did to
    yours ;)

  17. Congratulations. You beat me by a week!
Still grinning away here after two weeks (I'm an impatient bugger and
had the bike waiting in the garage). Having said that, there have been
moments when the smile has temporarily been replaced by a tightening
of the sphincter! I've taken to commuting to work on the bike, a 90
mile round trip mainly on the M23 / M25. There are some exposed areas
when the wind takes a real side swipe at you (at least from a newbie's
    perspective!)

    Fair 'nuff.

Where abouts are you? I've sold my bandit manual and have got next to no
idea how to take them off / out so if you can make it to NW London and
can remove them yourself, you have have them for the price of a haircut
    ;-)

Haven't been that brave yet, am going to do a few short rides to get into
the swing of it, not that I am a coward.......... correction... it's because
    I am a coward.

Hopefully I will gain a confidence along the way ?

  20. You're spot on with this, just need to get the message from the brain
to the hands that it's really okay to relax the vice like grip
contrary to all other sensory inputs!

    Thanks for the advice.
