I thought the whole question about the British monarchy
    was settled in 1660.

ps. I don't know whether it's an intentional irony or not,
but there's a local firm here (in Vancouver) that does fire/flood
damage repair under the company name "Cromwell Restoration".

pps. Is Prince William still riding a Triumph Daytona 600?

Doesn't seem to know too much about us.
Like, did he know that we had two Prime Ministers both so very intent on
handing us over lock stock and barrel to the Americans?
Both of these 'Progressive Conservatives' inflected some of the worse
damage on our Armed Forces. And both of these Prime Ministers were the
    darlings of Washington.
First up was John Diefenbaker and second was Brian Mulroney.
John dealt our fledgling aerospace industry some very heavy blows.
Not only that but he invested in the Beaumark Missile which was obsolete
even before we got them Brian dealt our forces some very heavy blows as
well. I kinda like how Stephen Harper, George's new friend, gloats on
about buying 12 new Boeing CH-47D's or even possibly CH-147E's or as
they'll be known up here as CH-147D or CH-147E. Because it was good ol'
blue eyes, Lying Brian that shut down 447 Sqdn in Namao. As one of our
troops on the ground in Afghanistan pointed out, it's weird that they have
to call on the Dutch for logistics support using the same 8 Chinooks that
Canada sold to them in '91.

Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind.

I just think of the revenue it would bring into the country with ppv
executions, dvd sales, souvenir deals and all the other sundries.

I often have to use Google to decode British English into something
I can understand. To me, "poof" is the sound of a magician or wizard
disappearing (usually with a flash and a puff of smoke. (Used often
in the newspaper cartoon _The Wizard of ID_). Does poof=puff?

However, a bit of semantic research quickly revealed that "poof"
(or "poofter") is UK slang for "homosexual" equivalent to (US) "fag",
which has the vague connotation of "degenerate", perhaps closer
    to your meaning(?)

BTW another word I had trouble with is "narner", from the song
    "My Old Man's a Dustman":

He looks a proper narner in his great big hob nailed boots

After considerable searching I found this might be a corruption
of 'nana (ie, banana). "My father looks like a banana"???
Didn't make sense, but then something else turned up: "banana split"
is a rhyming slang for "twit". A subtle thread indeed. In fact,
I wonder why the British armed forces bothered with encryption
at all in WW2; the Germans would have had trouble decoding plain
    Cockney sent in the clear.

Report: U.S. May Have Been Abused During Formative Years
    June 21, 2006 | Issue 42€25
WASHINGTON, DC‹A team of leading historians and psychiatrists issued a report
Wednesday claiming that the United States was likely the victim of abuse by its
founding fathers and motherland when it was a young colony.

"In its adulthood, the U.S. displays all the classic tendencies of a nation that
was repeatedly mistreated in its infancy‹difficulty forming lasting foreign
relationships, viewing everyone as a potential enemy, and employing a pattern of
assault and intimidation to assert its power," said Dr. Howard Drexel, the
report's lead author. "Because of trust issues stemming from the abuse, America
has become withdrawn, has not made an ally in years, and often resents the few
nations that are willing to lend support‹most countries outgrow this kind of
    behavior after 230 years."

It's an interesting idea. I've often thought that merkins were
arrogant cunts because underneath all the show they were hiding
    feelings of inadequacy.
