    MotoGP are entirely prototype, they can't use *any* production parts at
    all.

    WSB are essentially the opposite way around, they start with road bikes,
    then modify and develop them for the track, they have to retain standard
    bits like frames, engine casings, etc.

    IIRC I remember reading a magazine article which quotes the boss of Ducati
    as saying that it costs the same to run a factory WSB team as it does to run
    MotoGP.

    Maybe brake levers but not major mechanical stuff. WCM used some R1
    engine castings, with their own internals, etc. and were effectively
    banned from (I think) 2 races as it broke the rules.
