Can someone explain this?

Just browsing around the SOBMWs whilst watching the cricket [1] and saw
    this:

    http://search.ebay.co.uk/170371870217

Struggling to understand why the bidding is up at nearly 700 quid for
    essentially several boxes of bits.

    Am I missing something?

[1] That makes me sound older than I am, doesn't it?

  2. Christ knows. The bits are worth money in themselves, so maybe someone's
just going to flog it piecemeal.

Actually, I was going to say the fairing is worth a few hundred quid on
its own, but that appears to be absent, so I'm as baffled as you are.

Just another example of ebay lunacy. There was a complete running one
with tax and MOT in the BM owners club mag a couple of months (1) ago
for £850 with panniers. I did go after it but it had gone.

    (1) May have been longer, I'm old and the memory is addled with cider

I bet that the high bidder didn't see the small comment at the bottom
    regarding the fairing...

Or it could[1] mean the friend (& owner) wrote the ad, apart from the
    first line.

[1] That's me being polite. The alternative would be "It's obvious the
friend wrote the ad, Y pair of TC".

I didn't bother to read it.

  8. I did and thought, hang on, how can it be a fantastic R100RS which just
needs putting together if it hasn't got the fairing?

4 gets you 6 the spare frame is bent 'cos it's been crashed, and that's why
no fairing. I've got a spare frame for mine, but it's almost certainly
unsuable, the headstock angle is subtly steeper than BMW made it...
