Can someone do me a favour?

  1. If anyone's got any old bike mags hanging around, could you tell me the
number for Rider's Choice insurance? It's the one with the silver Kwak
    in the pictures.

I have Googled and I phoned them but that wasn't the same Rider's
    Choice.

    Cheers.

Do you mind telling me please, are they good then? I am looking who to go
for and I only have my old choice CIA or Auntie Carole. Whose the flavour of
    the month?

  5. All I can tell you is that they came out £50 cheaper with a ban than
Aunty Carole could do without one. Aunty Carole wanted an obscene amount
    by comparison.

Mind you, the freebies could be useful? Particularly the breakdown cover
    and green card ?
Not sure about legal assistance - never found it much use.

Going back a while, but last time I got tied into using legal assistance
from a different named insurer (not Auntie cant quite remember who), took em
3 years to clear up my claim - finally ending up in a payout from N.U. and
that was AFTER it had been through investigation with uninsured losses
    agency.
But I think that is also because N.U. can be complete cnuts too, bolstered
by the fact their driver was a drink driver and attempted (daresay
succeeded) to avoid prosecution for it when he was really guilty as hell and
    they knew it.
I think in some cases it might be better just going for your own choice os
solicitor on no win no fee, but thats a different question.

Thanks for the tip. I will compare them with auntie taking into account
seperate breakdown and see what it comes out like. I'm currently around the
£300 mark and that seems a bit high but without taking into account chain,
immob or other security devices. I did get a quote down to £200 ish assuming
a garage, but I don't currently have one in my exact address but down the
road a bit so thats not much use I imagine.
Im 31, 5 yrs no claims on bike and held since 97 (full license since 02) so
I wouldnt have though a nearly new grey import comfy chair like that should
cost too much tho- its hardly a sport bike now is it.

  7. Got both of those.
    You never know...
N.U. Say no more. I've never been insured with them and after past
experience of vastly overpriced quotes and telephone staff that can't
speak English, I won't be hurrying to try them any time soon.
RSS. Took them a year to sort my claim from beginning to end. I got a
shade more back than the bike was worth as well.
Find out if there are an clauses in your breakdown cover. One company I
tried wouldn't recover a vehicle unless you were more than 15 miles from
    home.

I try not to use blanket descriptions, but ime, NU are a bunch of
    useless cunts.
Ah, yes. So they are, then. That's unanimous.
Good call. There's usually one that states if you don't take out
their homestart cover that they won't sort you out unless you're more
    thna 2 miles from home. 15 seems a little excessive - that's a canny
    walk, like.
