Can I DFV?

I ask because I've got one of them lovely DFV#s in my .sig and I haven't
done anything to merit it for a very long time[1].

I also wasn't aware that we were still looking for somebody to maintain the
    FAQ.

Obviously the task of filling the shoes of our last keeper is one I'm not up
to, but I do think I could manage to beat the FAQ into reasonable shape,
make the amendments that are required and put in the few hours that are
needed to keep it up to date.

In terms of qualifications; I can tipe good and right well, I've been
hanging around here for a few years now and know how the place works, I've
met around 50% of the regulars[2][4], I know something about bikes and I've
never had sex with an intern[5].

To be balanced the downsides are that I'm a Norvern monkey, I agree with
Champ more often than any sane person does, I can't GMKD[6] and I'm
    occasionally nice to newbies.
Anyone care to give me the job? Anyone care to suggest whose job it is to
give me the job? Anyone care?

[1] Although I haven't _completely_ forgotten about the Northern Monkey's
    Christmas 2002 piss-up.
[2] And actually liked[3] about 3.5 of them.
[3] As long as you take "liked" to mean, "would probably find bearable if
they took a shower, changed their clothes and were given 36 hours to sober
    up".
    [4] Top half, normally.
[5] Although I've had sex with the internet on a daily basis since getting
    ADSL.
[6] Except as part of the whole crashing experience.

Do we want a completely new FAQ?

I'd be in favour of having a "supplemental-FAQ" that fills the gaps but
    leaving the present one untouched.

Call me a sentimental old fool and I'll burn your fucking house down.

I wasn't favouring a completely new FAQ or even suggesting that we should
    have one.
I'm completely with you WRT leaving the Windy document untouched, but when
we do so it becomes a document for those who knew her, either IRL or by her
postings here. Admirable as that is, it's not serving the purpose for which
an FAQ is intended; helping newbies find their way around the group and not
piss us all off by making us repeatedly tell them to bottom-post, sort out
their FS ads, not to ask stupid questions, etc.

I'd totally favour keeing the classic FAQ up on the ukrm site, but,
realisitically, it needs to be at least tweeked slightly to bring it up to
    date.
S'alright, I'm a Northerner. You burn my house down - there are plenty more
    cardboard boxes.

Alright by me as long as you don't try to have it *all* your own way.

Can't think of a better idea than you and Des co-writing alternate
paragraphs or articles. I liked his parody of the (non existente) clique
and your agony aunt column would be a good challenge to any contributor.

    Gets my vote too.

OK, you can, but let's forget this FAQ nonsense.

Organise a 2004 UKRM trip to the Isle of Man for the TT.

The hotel has to be on the Douglas or Ramsey sides of the island.

You don't have to go if you don't want to.

    Now look lively.

FWIW. I don't think that ffaq maintenance deserves a DFV# as it carries
with it a special kudos all of its own.

I thought we'd established that you're not technically old? I get

I don't have an issue with The Old Bat's ffaq being used but it do need
    bringing up to date.

I am not sure I want to see it left to gather dust as a monument. I
would be quite happy to see it carry on being a growing living thing.

I just found a "don't" down the back of my sofa - are you missing one?
No, I've _already_ got a DFV#, it's right there vvvvv in my sig. I was just
saying I hadn't done much to justify it recently.

The last time I looked, Douglas *and* Ramsey are on the same, eastern,
side of the Isle of Man.

Douglas is south, Ramsey is east.

There is a whole north and west part that's a bit far away...
