Can anybody recommend a decent source for certain tools?

For some reason (that is found in my .sig) I find myself in need of a
set of imperial allen keys. Well, I'd actually rather have sockets than
the keys but the problem is that I can find the keys (even on fleabay)
but no-one seems to do sockets.

Anybody got either a decent quality set going spare or a recommendation
    for a supplier?

Unfortunately they only have the keys and not the socket drivers. The
only ones I could find so far are Snap-Off, and they come with their
    usual price tag...

I've got a set of Gedore (sp?) 1/2" drive imperial socket allen keys
that are pretty good quality and cost about £45 for a 10 piece set.
You should be able to get similar from any decent engineering
    supplier.

Given the absence of Brit iron, but the presence of a 'merican tractor
in my sig, that'll be AF then. Thanks for pointing this out.
Again, there seems to be a certain dearth of AF Allen socket drivers
(yes, I know they've got the keys but I'd really want a set of sockets
    as well).

Ta, that doesn't sound too bad then. Guess I better try to find a decent
    engineering supplier down here then...

Ah yes, the world's stopped doing imperial in general :-(

    But woo hoo anyway!
I bought a set of Teng imperial allens

    http://www.teng.co.uk/product-details.asp?prod_id=774 sort of thing

20 have a load of AF, which I'd guess is what you need.

Alternatively get thee down to Halfords to peruse their tool
catalogues. It's like porn, only better.

Heh. I actually managed to sell my imperial spanners on fleabay.

Three months before I bought a Rover P6...

Fortunately Pip had a set of spanners and sockets that he sold to me for
a very reasonable price. And I won't be making *that* mistake again.
Noticed the change in my sig then, have you?
Cheers, that's pretty much what I need for a quarter of the Snap-On
    price.

Dunno, my Halfords down here looks decidedly like it's run by some East
German store manager from back in the old days - pretty much everytime I
need something a bit more specific than "something with a blue LED in
it", the associated space on the shelf is empty.

As you're stocking up on imperial tools again, don't fancy adding a P5B
    to the fleet, do you?
Certainly did - looks like you've got a nice one at I suspect a decent
    price
Well, I'm impressed with them :)

True of the one here too, however they still have a huge range of tools
(Britool, Teng etc) that they order in.

V8? Coupe or Saloon? What nick is it in?

    .... so potentially, yes.
Well, it was supposedly a decent price (the starting price on the auction
that I had emailed you), the bloke even delivered in the torrential rain
a couple of days ago and yes, it's pretty nice.

Needs some of the extra chrome removing (why on earth would you stick a
chrome visor on your rear light is a bit beyond me) and a good
service. That's the plan for this weekend...
    Good :)

As a result of a bizarre mistake I have a set of Stanley imperial
allen keys wasting space in a drawer. Email me a snail-mail address
[1], and they're yours; should our paths ever cross again [2] you can
    owe me a pint.
