Camping people - kit advice?

Just try and have a debate with someone, you usually can't help instantly
reducing it to puerile name-calling anyway, as you desperately attempt to
tread water in a sea of discussion way too treacherous for your tiny
provincial mind, you limp-dicked champion of tabloid philosophy.

 

The absence of posters expressing an opinion certainly doesn't mean
that they don't hold one.

There have been plenty of people who've got pissed off with Bear, and
had a posting pop (gentle or otherwise). I can think of eight regulars,
off the top of my head, plus trolls innumerable. And that doesn't
include those who've expressed opinions off-group.

The fact that nobody has joined in to support LN/MattG simply means
that those who might express an opinion (myself included) are just
seeing this as a spat between Bear and MattG/LN, and are having the
good sense and manners to keep out of it.

I think it's one of the nicer fluffy aspects of ukrm that when the fur
flies between posters, you don't (generally) get all and sundry wading
in on one side or the other.

 

It's not going well. 10 minutes and the pile-on hasn't happened.

first move in a trade of insults, so I'll just address some of your
points rather than argue.

You seriously think that a Northern Ireland accent with a bit of
picked-up estuary intonation is "stereotypical gay"? You must get all
the queers from NI up your way. I'm not sure why you think my accent is
an "attempt" in any way. Well, I suppose over the years I've lived in
London I suppose I've attempted to slow my rate of speech so the
English can understand me.

I don't think so. They're currently playing the

No, I normally keep out of these things as well, but I don't think that
watching two nobodies throw school-yard "I think you're nasty but I'm not
saying why" insults at somebody who has always been one of my favourite
regulars on ukrm is acceptable.

amazed that you, or any of the other London clique boys, can get your heads
out of your own, and each others, arses long enough to notice enough about
anybody else to draw an even glancingly accurate charicature.

Your whole "angry young man" thing would be a lot more convincing if you
took a second to wipe off your cappuccino moustache and grown an opinion
that wasn't cribbed from the editorial section of the Guardian.

Whether he deserves it or not is unrelated to whether it's acceptable..

Give it time. I've always wanted to know how many pissed-off
argumentative ukrm-ers it takes to reach critical mass and make my
monitor explode.

Unfortunately, I'll have to catch the rest of this bitchfest later,
because I've just been phoned (I swear I'm not making this up) and told
there's a swarm of bees for me to collect. So I'm heading off,
hopefully, to catch the sods and get them home in my car without being
stung.

I've never done this before, and it has the capability of going
horribly Pete Tong.

 

The only thing remotely close to brewing near me, is my espresso machine
warming up.

I'm shagged out - I need a caffeine bomb.
