Fr Jack says... I've just bought a Vango Gamma 250 2 man tunnel tent with a huge porch area that packs up small enough to go in Oxford Sports panniers along with my sleeping bag, with room for loads of other stuff crammed in. I paid 45 quid for it and it's lovely. Takes 10 mins for one person to erect and about the same to pack away.
Bear said... It's not just ukrm kids, the place is likely to be full of them. Lots of kids, all the time.
Bear says... Sig sep rectified. I got it from a a camping equipment exhibition at a garden centre just outside Hitchin. The same folk were displaying the same make and model of tent at the BMF show today for the same price. They are: Camping Centre (Exhibitions) Gorrick Luckley Road, WOkingham Berks RG40 3AU Phone: 0118 978 4982 Give them a call and find out if they will be doing an exhibition in your area.
Bear says... Bigger than it would appear there and the porch is a more than adequate, as anyone who saw it at Veggies will testify. In general I tend to camp alone, so I'm not interested in a rag-mansion. Which is precisely why I bought this model and not the Gamma 350. I'm hopefully riding down to Malta on my tod next year, so wanted something small enough to carry in the throwovers, but big enough to be useable.
Of camping If I don't want you to go I'm perfectly capable of saying so myself. I don't want you to go. Being civil on here is one thing, a week in a field would strain my patience.
Bear said... I fail to see how anyone can ban you. You can choose whether or not you go. She has made her position clear, allow me to do the same, I don't want you to go, and that is not simply because she doesn't want you to go. No-one can ban you, it is a public site, it is your choice.
Bear said... My reasons are my own. Are you saying you consider that I am incapable of forming my own opinion?
You said... You hadn't made sarky comments such as the above and the 'being banned' at that point. Raise the issue in a public forum, you'll get a reply there. It is my family holiday - it has *everything* to do with me. That saves Matt and I cancelling our booking then. Your opinion of me matters not one jot.
Bear said... That meaning what? It is composed of many things, it boils down to the fact that I don't think you are a very nice person, and I don't want to spend time with you. I find the way you behave towards other people, and no this is not just about LN, to be quite abhorrent. I will say what ever I choose to say, when and where I choose to say it.
As the 'obvious reasons' I'll comment [1] - You and I have frequently crossed swords over the years - too much alike in some ways. But I've always been prepared to take the bad with the good and things usually return to an even keel. I've defended you when Matt has been annoyed. I was the person who suggested the solution to your last spot of bother. I've held out so many olive branches I'm getting muscles like a weight lifter. We've both (having been there ourselves) taken into account the effect high pain levels have. We've both been concerned about the damage you do to yourself by your own choice. We both used to think that under the bullshit there was a decent bloke. You say you respect Matt. You've got a funny way of showing it. [1] Who was it who wanted old school UKRM? This the sort of thing you were after?
That statement, up there ^^^^^^, Patsy, darling. -- Cheers! Fr Jack 96 Tiger. FRJACKUKRM AT GMAIL DOT COM skype: fr.jack (without the dot) Insomnia sucks!
Bear said... I'm not in the least bit surprised you think I'm talking out my my arse, the Bearcentric view of the world wouldn't allow any other view. Funny that you claimed to "respect the ****" out of me, it seems that only applies when it suits you. You are two faced and see the world only as it suits you. My opinion of you is based on *my* interaction with you. My recent interaction with you is what has lowered my opinion of you to the extent that I do not wish to be around you. As regards your behaviour towards others I'm not going to give examples as I don't feel it would achieve anything. You view the way you behave as acceptable, I don't. That is a difference in our value systems. I choose my associations with care, someone with your value system is not someone I wish to associate with.
