  1. Bollocks. caught using a bus lane. Actually, I just dived into it and
then out, to get past a stationary truck, but it's a fair cop.

    50 quid.

And the bike I was on? The bloody CB125. Oh, the shame.

I got one of those from Harrow carnsil this week. I'd only got 2 wheels
of the car in the bus lane to go round a car that was turning right.

    Bunch of cunts.

That seems a little harsh and more than a tad unfair. What do you do if
you have a genuine reason, like a second go at a cyclist or something?

    Well of course.

Sorry to hear that - it seems very unfair, and I don't fully understand
    it.

The bus lanes in Bristol all permit motorbikes & taxis. When in
preparation for my test here some 5 years ago, I was told I *must* use
bus lanes as much as possible, to show the examiner I knew this.

AFAIK, they're still all like this (don't travel the entire city
though). I remember something at the time about it being a trial for a
national change in the law, but surely it can't have taken the
so-and-sos five years to get round to it? And how can you have a law
where the same road markings have different rules in different places?

Sorry to get political, but was this another idea that NuLab has quietly
dropped, and if so why? Seems to me the answer can only be ££££. They'll
get far more by nicking people, and they don't get money from
    free-flowing traffic...

    Disgusted,

    Simonm.

  8. I know. AFAIK Bristol is still the only place where it's legal.

Bloody ridiculous, but there we go.

I think that Colchester allows bikes in bus lanes.

There's one in Twickenham that's legal for bikes. Part of an experiment,
    apparently.

Stop whining and take your punishment like a man. It could have been so
much worse. In Stockwell you get five head-shots for a first offence.

Because it also covers your legal rights to ask for all proof in any
Motoring offense. You have the right to demand the photographs and
calibration certificates of,"ALL" the devices used in the alleged
offense.Neither you nor I know that the devices used were correctly
used, calibrated or the operator was using them correctly nor that the
    data collected was correctly processed.
Also if,as it seems,it was a momentary need to enter the,"Bus-lane"
because it would endanger the life of the rider/driver and or others
then there is a mechanism in law to allow for the judgement.

And before you come back with any glib cliches like,"Barrack-room
Lawyer).I've correctly beaten in an incorrect camera fine this year :)

It's about time more people stopped playing the convenience game of
    just,"Coughing up" because it's easier.Stand your ground,fight your
    corner.Know your rights.
