I want to attach a small video camera to my bike, not to record the
spped so much, but to record the roads and countryside to send back to
    a friend in the States.

I've seen some pretty good vids on the web and just wondered if anyone
has done this, hat did they use to attach the camera to minimise
vibration or are there any websites on the subject.

A small piece of tape over the speedo should sort it.

    Nice one Sir.

As I said, this will be more of a "bikers view of green England" than
"I left my pants 1/2 a mile down the road". I may also use it for some
professional work as well. So this is the site I'm looking for.

A video camera & some sticky-tape is all you need....

    http://italiancar.no-ip.org/~sorby/darleyvideohelmet.jpg

The footage I got off this was super-smooth - unlike my riding.
Wouldn't like to have crashed wearing it though.

Fucking plastic shit they put all over my ST, I can't find anywhere
to bolt anything on. Looks like gaffer tape it is.

JP, where do coppers stick theirs?

Well, it doesn't come off, if that's what you mean. Makes a right fucking
    mess of the camera too!

Of course, it would be only someone of a particular evil mindset who
would deliberately fit a second speedo, deliberately mis-calibrated,
and positioned such that the true one is out of camera shot but the
fake is in shot, and then try to get the resultant tape used as
    evidence.

It's OK, I'll soak both of them in a tub of white spirit over night.
    That'll cure it :)

PS. Anyone flaming me on this is a complete thick headed **** with not
enough brains to understand sarcasm (or an American).

    But... but... but... ;-)
    Nobody understands Americans.

Someone mentioned a comedian recently who, upon discovering there were some
Americans in the audience, pleaded with them not to invade the stage if he
    said something they didn't like.

    [bike-mounted video cameras]
Try on top of the offside mirror, on a Pan. Ask Colonel Tupperware,
he's got a couple mounted to his ST.

Could do, but those mirrors seem to come off pretty easily.

The ones I`ve seen are mounted slung just under the headlight.

I take your point, but I believe his is supported by a bracket
additional to the mirror. It certainly stayed in place when he lobbed
it past us at 30+ mph, camera running ... if only he'd taken the lens
    cap off.

http://www.rc-cam.co.uk offer a system that could be adapted

Was looking at this system to fit a cam to the helmet with remote recording
either somewhere sensible on the bike or even in a car following. Might be
easier with a bike with panniers.
