Fucksake but that was a piece of piss to fit - took the grand total of about
10 mins. Had no need to remove tank, airbox or carbs, thank god. Only
items removed were middle section of fairing, idle adjuster and frame cover
    thang. Plenty access for a spidery-fingered one <flexes fingers>.

Result is one R6 with nary a clatter in earshot.

    Woohoo!

Well of course it was dear, haven't we be telling you this already?
You wait, there will be another noise now that you hadn't been able to
    hear before...

I shall wait until after I avail myself of a rear BT014 for the princely sum
of £80 + VAT from them first ;-)

Actually to be fair, strictly speaking, by the book, they were correct
(according to Yamaha UK), in the same way that handbooks/manuals say you
should replace this, that or next thing when you carry out
maintenance/repair, to be on the safe side.

However, it is much nicer to find that the cheaper, easier option has been
sufficient. Whilst I would much prefer a garage that does things properly,
without cutting corners, I'd also like one that can exert good practical
    judgement.

Way I look at it is, they've just done themselves out of my custom (except
for the incredibly cheap tyre natch), which given I currently have two bikes
    could have been reasonably considerable.
