Just after an opinion on Caviga Mito 125's. I'm interested in the 125's because
I want to start racing them. I initially intend to ride the bike on the road,
and when money is more in abundance, I want to start racing it.

    Just want to find out:

What signs should I be looking for in second hand models?

What's required in terms of maintenance and is it expensive if I do it myself?

Do the bikes need frequent rebuilds if riden moderately?

Also, what other bikes would fall into the same catagory and be insurable?

    thanks.

A Mito is a really fun street bike but I am not sure if any class exists for
you to race one, perhaps look at a 125 GP bike.

Buy a Kawasaki KH100 instead? As Boxer pointed out, no class to race
a Mito in. The Kwak is cheap as chips, you can ride on the road and
then bucket race them on the weekends. Admittedly, the performance
isnt inspiring, but I think there is a fairly strong bucket racing
    following in QLD.

They r wicked on the road and on the track however to race them, as
mentioned by others not many classes exist and a 125 GP bike will weigh
about 40Kg less than a Mito and will put out more than 15Hp more than a
    stock Mito.
I reckon u get a Mito now then when u got the dollars buy a RGV then put it
    on the track.

In term of what to look for with 2nd hand bikes check that the bike hasnt
been cooked and that the head gasket o rongs r OK. get it compression
tested. Make sure the powervale pulleys make some nice noises when u turn
the Key to the ON position.
If u can afford it get the Mito with the USD forks and the Ducatti looking
    fairings..... they r sooo hot.
    Anything else just email me.
P.S. they pull much harder with a big bore kit :)
