    Hi All,

Can anyone help me find someone who knows about the Cagiva Mito. I have
just brought one as my first bike and
it is not reving cleanly after about 7k-8k. I am not sure what it is and
after looking at other threads around the
world it appears to be a common problem with this bike, problem is know
one ever posts the answer to the
problem. Maybe they just burn them! Any help or advice on who and where
    would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers.

Don't just burn it, I'll take it off your hands.

You don't say where abouts you are, but, if you are in the Sydney area,
I'd recommend talking to MMT at Granville.

Craig knows about getting wee two-strokes to work good. :)

Alternatively, you can fit a Yamaha RZ250 or 350 motor into the Mito.

Actually, when I thought about it, burning could well be the answer.....

The exhaust system of a two-stroke does actually get clogged up,
especially if it's ridden about too slowly, and burning off the gunk in
the system is the way to fix that problem.

    Take exhaust off bike first!

Aye, there's a bloke in Holland who sells a couple of mounting plates,
which allows an RZ motor to just bolt in.

There is one Mito in Sydney(-ish) that I knew. It had the RZ 250 bottom
end, and the 350 barrels fitted. It was last heard off waiting for
chambers being built for a 470cc engine!

It went like stink on the fairly stock 350 motor.

This from a bloke who has, to my knowledge, rebuilt at least one RZ500
    motor?

The 470 kit is relatively affordable, given the US-Oz exchange rate.
They seem to do them there for Banshees and snow-mobiles.

Yeah, take it to Armidale and let Lemmiwinks have a look at it. He
can make a 4-stroke bike run with as much as noise and smoke as your
    average 2-stroke! ;-)

paaah ! Do it properly - give it an italian tuneup

    JL
for the original poster that's hold it wide open throttle for as long
as you can manage. Please note I take no responsibility for any burnt
pistons you may suffer if some doofus has messed with the fuel mixture.

If you are really Andrew Coleman, you were supposed to have gotten #3.

(Brought back a few memories, reading some of the older posts!)

    As in:-
"The poor 'ol FZR has been awaiting tyres (and I money to buy said
tyres), and so I have been Razz'ing to work.

I have thus made a critical discovery - centrifugal clutches
are a wheelie-maniacs best tool. That baby can hold one wheel
    much longer than the FZR.

Showing off in the work carpark, middle of the Enogerra Army Barracks,
I flipped it - two much gas (and its not often you can say that
about a 50cc single) and too big a yank on the bars. I had to
run along behind it, desperately trying to shut off the throttle which
is wide open due to the angle of my wrist. Eventually caught up
    enough
to slow down and remount. Result: Browned trowsers, smashed rego
holder, bent number plate, and several friends in stitches (of
    the laughter kind). "

    From September 22, 1996.
