Caberg V2 - Any Opinions?

  1. Apart from the usual "it's too cheap, it must be shit" ones, I'll take
them as read just to save your fingers.

I like the idea of the inner visor, but I've only seen it on flip-front
    lids before now.

If it is built the same as the other lids in their range then my
experience is that it works. More noisy than some but mechanically
    fine.

The next lid I buy will be a D ring though, I am not very happy with the
seat belt thingy. Nothing wrong with it, I just don't like it. If I
had big fat fingers like most of you lot I reckon I would like it even
    less.

  3. It's hard to judge noise levels in the shop. They need a wind tunnel,
    they do.
I've got a D ring on the current lid, and rate it for securing the thing
to my head, but I like the convenience of the seat-belt thingy for use
    with gloves.

    Thanks for the comments.

You may have noticed that this is something of a soap box issue with me.
*ALL* you have to go on is the subjective experience of others and
imagine if Bear had ever talked to someone who had ever owned a Caberg?

I would like to see some form, however limited, of objective testing of
noise levels. Or at least have the manufacturers pay lip service
towards noticing it may be an issue for some their customers.

    My point almost exactly.

Funnily enough, I bought a Caberg V2 lid this weekend, being a pikey
sort of chap. So far it's covered about 200 miles, so this is a
    limited use review.

Firstly: it's quite comfortable, whihc came as a suprise as last time I
tried a Caberg on (about 2 years ago) it was very uncomfortable.

Its a bit draftier on the face than my most recent lid: a HJC, but not
as drafty as the AVG I had was. In the damp this morning it didn't
    mist at all.

The dark inner visor is easy to flip up and down with gloved hands.
The tricky thing is opening and closing air vents on the move. The
inner visor causes a bit of disortion if you look down, but then you
don't do that when riding, do you? Riding home this evening into a low
sun it did it's job admirably.

Noise: it is a bit noisy, but would apear to be about the same as the
HJC. I can't remember the noise level on the AVG or previous lids.
With ear plugs in, though, it doesn't cause me any trouble.

All I want to know is, now I have a black lid (again) to go with black
leathers and black bike, do I get a MIB number?

I appreciate it is not straightforward but it is not impossible.
I would rather spend my investment up front in the form of a well
    designed helmet.

Well yes but I was rather hoping that when they actually come to working
out the details that a mind somewhat better prepared for the task than
mine, which knowledge and education and stuff, would be doing the
    calling the shots.

And do I like it? Do I ****.

I think they went bust. But it is there own fault for not having 300
pound paint jobs on their helmets.

Dunno. Here we go again ...

    Right, where do I begin?

Black bike has been observed by ukrm at least three times.
On at least four occasions I have been observed all in black, apart
    from lid.
    Lid completes set.
Do I need to arrange a photo?

What other measures of blackness are applicable?

Do I get disqualified if I ride in jeans, which might be blue, in the
summer? (with black DMs.) [note to self: dependent on answer, buy
black jeans] Sometimes ride in denim jacket, but that's black.
