If Bushy had scapegoated Rumsy and one or two neocon jews several weeks
ago I suspect he would be sleeping easier tonight.

Looks like they're finished in the Senate, too. Even if they win
Virginia they're stuck with 50 republican senators vs 48 democrats and 2
    democrat-allied independents.

Bush must be feeling a little edgy right now.

Too late I can't help but think.

He's done so much damage him going is basically just offloading his
crap onto some poor mug taking over from him.

Unlike you, Bob. Please familiarise yourself with the posting
conventions here - there's a whole chunk of FAQ about it.

    Oh look! A thick ****.

It must warm what's left of Rumsfeld's micro-heart to know that a
mouth-breathing imbecile in the UK thinks "he did a good job".

Way to go Bob, you tell 'em!

(Only, try not to dribble on the floor, there's a good lad. It detracts
from the towering intellectual heights of your argument. And do stop
wiping your nose on your sleeve, it's embarrassing)

  14. But he didn't so he's now got a 2 year problem on his hands.

  15. The problem is, that their are no repercussions to him - he can't lose
another election. I like some of the aspects US electoral process, but I
think that there are significant weaknesses in the fact that a) Bush can't
be got at now and b) there is no Leader of the Opposition. Mind you, they
might get David Cameron, and there's a truly appalling thought.

  16. Well yes. It's interesting to see that Leiberman has been elected as an
independent and one state has elected an independent who calls himself a
socialist. A socialist in America!? The KKK will be after him and
    setting him on fire.
It will be interesting to see what happens politically. There is danger
for the Democrats as they have to demonstrate they can exercise power
wisely and not create hostages to fortune that the Republicans can use
come the Presidential election. It will also be interesting to see
whether Condy Rice can outgun Cheney in moving the balance of power
inside the White House in policy terms. For too long Cheney and
Rumsfeld have held sway but Bush has apparently said Cheney stays for
the next two years - or until his health gives out.

Bush will spend the remainder of his term in misery. Pelosi will make
    sure of that.

  18. Well in theory Bush can't be kicked out but depending on far
vindictiveness stretches the Democrats could do an almighty hatchet job
on his administration and drag the Republican party through the mire if
necessary. To be fair the Republicans have done a decent enough job on
their own but it will be interesting to see how long the outbreak of
    "partnership" lasts.

I think the bit we need to think about is that we might get David
Cameron unless the Iraq issue gets sorted out on this side of the
    Atlantic as well.

  19. I'd be interested to see what said chap defines as socialism. I once had a
Merkin call me a socialist because I praised my experiences with the NHS.
The term does seem to have a somewhat different meaning from that which Nye
    Bevin might have understood.

  20. OK, I can live with that. It should make for entertainment, if nothing else.
I just wish that there was more than the judgement of history that could be
    visited on Bush.
