I've never bought a biking vid.

That's not very helpful, is it?

    IQ 18, natch.

Having said that, I probably catch your drift - I use Blackstar (now
known as sendit.com) and Play.com mainly - you might consider ebay as
    an outlet too.

    Best of luck, mate.

    Amazon
    WH Smiths
    HMV
    Virgin

I don't think you should have to go somewhere special to buy stuff
    like that.

Why? Would you go to HMV to buy bike parts?

Because it's a good idea IMO. I only ever go into accessory shops when I
have a bit of spare disposable income so might buy a vid at the same
    time.
    Nope.

No worse than bike vid producers who've no idea where to buy 'em
    either...

While it would be luverly for companies that big to stock our stuff,
we'd have to pay them to stick our vids on their shelves as they work in
exactly the same way as supermarkets operate

I'll look into their T+C. Cheers
Is it just me, or does Ebay smack of cheap shit that no one wants [1],
sold by people who shouldn't really be trusted to people too thick to
    realise they're getting screwed?

    [1] Yes, I know...

Shame. I take it you're after an outlet that is 'real' rather than
virtual? As others have said, bike accessory shops, and Halford as
well. But they're the last place people think of when they want a
    dvd.

Maybe just go round every bike shop in the country and offer them on
    sale-or-return?

What about petrol stations - they often have CDs and stuff on display
right where you queue up to pay for that impulse buy [1].

    Just an idea, like.

[1] Anyone want a copy of Barbara Dixon's greatest hits ;)

I've seen bike videos on sale in accessory shops. In a rack next to
the till, usually. Easy way to try - get hold of a few racks,
customise them, stack 'em up with product and hawk 'em round shops,
effectively renting the floorspace or doing a deal with the proprietor
    on sales. Perhaps.

It is called sell-through. You place the vids wholesale in outlets with
a connection and let them do the actual retailing. The trick with that
one is to sell the idea to the shops first.

There's a huge range of gear. Yes, there's shitloads of tat that
nobody in their right mind would buy, but the world is full of
fucknuggets that do pay for it. There's plenty of decent kit too - I
bought my hi-fi/cinema amps from ebay, for example.

I've also bought a number of tapes/CDs/DVDs from ebay, ranging in
price from 99p to 15 quid and in condition from obviously used to
brand new. There are many big retailers (not high street retailers,
no) that sell on ebay and seem to make a living from it. Set your
initail bid price at your cost plus margin and away you go ...

Up to a point, Lord Copper.

There's quite a few small scale businesses that use Ebay as a
distribution channel. My ex-girlfriend used to sell lots of her stuff
through ebay - she re-listed stuff on a rolling 7 day auction, with a
"buy it now" price and a high reserve.
