I have been to look at a trike. The bloke selling it is willing to do a
    striaght
swap for our bikes. It has a kawasaki engine shaft drive running to a Bond
bug rear axle.It does seem a bit heavy on the steering but that may be due
to the fact that the engine is so far forward or a cr#p tyre. Any advice
    or help gratefully recieved.

i had a trike, gold wing aspencade with a motortrike kit on it.
the steering is usually pretty heavy on one which has not been 'raked'.
that is, the steering angle tilted back.
however, i found that i liked the effect as it told me how much
sidethrust was being applied to the wheels.
it was no problem other than being a bit 'heavy'.
    good luck, sammm
