    Hi,

I don't know too much about motorbikes, but I am going to buy a second
    hand Hornet.
Can anyone tell me what to look out for in terms of wear and tear what
to look out for? Thanks a lot.

    Hi,
Well... start off asking if the bike actually runs....if not...be
prepared to have some extra money on hand.... Hs the bike been sitting for a
long period of time?? When was it last started? Does it have a
manual?....try to find out these things about the bike. My neighbor was
willing to give me a honda 750 because he was moving out of state. He was
about to bring it to the dump when I asked him what was wrong... he just
told me it sat for 6 yrs and ran when he put it away... well it didnt run
when i got it, I ended up doing a top end job, rebuilding the carbs,
replacing countless parts that just didn't work anymore because of a binding
problem, and so I spent probably more than I should have, but now I have a
running bike and I feel like I've accompllished something by rebuilding the
thing. If you aren't handy around tinkering with motorcycles, I would stay
clear if it doesn't run, otherwise it will end up costing you more than you
probably want to spend.... on the other hand, if it is running, buy it at a
    good price!!!....

    Good Luck..
