  3. Which on closer inspection of the photo appears likely as that appears to be
a photo of an American spec bike in what is very likely a car park full of
American cars, possibly in America somewhere.

  4. Having checked his feedback, and noted it's good and that he's
invariably a buyer not a seller, I reckon he's had his Ebay account
    hacked by a low-life scum.

In other words, it's a scam, it's always a scam (tm).

(x-posted to the Ebay ng for their feedback)

    FFS use your brain.
"Pre-approved bidders", "email me for more details", "will post
worldwide". Plus photos of a USA model, taken in a car park full of
    pick-ups.

    It's a hijacked account and it's a scam.

Really, do you actually have to ask?

    £2k for a ZX10R. Hmmm.

I would think the details don't really matter unless you fancy doing
a reverse 419 style routine on him.

  8. FFS read the post - did I say "look everyone a bargain - bid now 'cos I
certainly am"? No? Didn't think so.

  9. Right, obviously that was a well thought out post of mine. It was meant as a
kind of rhetorical question, but maybe I should have read and revised before
    sending.

And now this sounds like a back peddling 'cos I've been a numpty and
realised the errors of my way post. Fuggit, I'm off to bed.

No, but you did ask "Do you think this is for real?"

Tend to agree - the 'seller' has no visible history of buying anything to do
with motorbikes, and I'd LOVE to see a set of golf clubs carried on the
    pillion of a Kawasaki.

    It's a scam, it's always a scam.

And what a surprise - he also appears to have a 2004 Honda CBR600RR for
£2000 "buy it now" - for pre-approved bidders or buyers only.

As the last few ebay transactions on this acoount seem to have only involved
buying golf clubs and music CDs I would bet that this is a hacked ebay
account being used to reel in a couple of gullible punters before the
genuine owner of the account realises that its been hijacked.

It has to be a scam.

Since it costs nothing, and it's risk free, I've fired off questions to the
buyer, and asked to be added to the pre-approved bidders list.

I'll come back and tell you if I get an answer...

Well done ebay. I emailed them last night with a "potential fraud alert"
after finding that the same vendor had another £2000 "buy it now" new bike
advertised (CBR600RR - listing has also been pulled). There may also have
been other fraud warnings sent to them. Its good to see a prompt response
by ebay to such blatant scam listings.

  20. Point taken, see subsequent post (it was late, I was tired, the dog ate it
    etc. etc. ) :)
