No, it was the U.S. capitalist war mongers who
refused to let the Vietnamese People handle their
own affairs. You should learn to mind your own
    business, and stop supporting terrorists.

She helped get our solidiers out of an insane
war, and saved thousands of their lives and
limbs. You, OTOH, were quite content to see
them lose their lives and limbs for nothing,
just are you are now in Iraq.
Are you a terrorist? Why do you hate U.S.

  11. Uh, er... not that I'm kicking the gong for communism, which has been
clearly demonstrated to be a bankrupt -- so to speak <nudge, nudge> --
concept, but just who is/was the official spokesman for International
    Communism?

For that matter, is/was "International Communism" the formal name for
some group of countries (like "NATO" or "SEATO" or "UN" or "League of
Nations" or "Warsaw Pact"? What nations were card-carrying members and
what nations were merely fellow travelers? Where can I read more
details on this avowed goal (written by those doing the actual avowing,
not by someone else putting words in their mouths. Whoever "they"
    are).

I mean, the avowed goal of some Islamic jihadists is the eradication of
infidels, but there are legally-appointed Muslem spokemen (no
"spokespeople" in that society) falling all over themselves to swear
that the London bombings (and belatedly, the WTC attack) is not true
Islamic behavior. So is/was International Communism as unified as
    International Islam?

She helped to propagandize the war and up to two
million died as a result of the US's bail out. Why no concern
for their lives? The problem with the war was it was run by
politicians, there would have been less limbs and lives lost
if it was run by the military.

You just called democracy nothing. Exactly what a
    neoStalinist would say.

Where ever do you get these ideas?

US intel worked with and supplied Ho and others during WW2. After the war
the Vietnamese set up a Brit type democracy under Jap protection but when
the Japs went home the French came back, leading Ho & co to ask several US
presidents to come in as we were doing in the Phillipians. These went
unanwered because we needed France in NATO so Ho turned to the USSR for
help. After whuping the French Ho & co didn't know what to do. Ho'd knew the
western democracies offered their people better living standards that
communist countries, but we had turned our backs on him. So the Vietnamese
temporarily partitioned their country to see which was best for them, with a
reunification election to let the people decide in 5 (?) years.

Trouble is the south didn't get a democracy, it got a franco-cathlolic
monarchy under the Diem family and the $$$ Ike began pouring in to help
instead built "stratigic hamlets" (prison camps) for the farmers and filled
Diems' Swiss accounts. Soon we saw Buddists (the majority religion) burning
themselves in the street and CIA polls began predicting commie by a
    landslide come elections.

CIA tried to warn JFK about this but he didn't see anything wrong with
Diem's relatives running the government. After all he'd done the same. And
when it came to Buddists vs Catholics he promised to consult the Pope when
he found time. Meanwhile the situation deteriorated the JFK went to Dallas
leaving his "whiz kids" to help LBJ solve the problem.

Til that point the US had done little to force anything on Vietnam. The
South's problems were entirely home grown. But as the elections neared, the
whiz kids paniced. Remember Camelot? JFK'd been their god. They couldn't
loose another country to communism cuz it'd farther tarnish his reputation.
So they created the Gulf of Tonkin incident and suckered us into a war that
    couldn't be won.

Point is it wasn't "U.S. capitalist war mongers who refused to let the
Vietnamese People handle their own affairs", it was a small group (a dozen
or so) of well intentioned but soft headed liberals who suckered the rest of
the USA into that blunder. And now we find that a similar small group has
led us to blunder into Iraq.
