Not quite, but two of the bikes mentioned in it need sorting....

('Resting' my arse - they're fuct atm).

They are 'co-owned' between me and my son and he shows no sign of doing
anything about them (busy with a new house) - the NS jumps out of 3rd gear
(badly) and the Triumph has 'blown up' (but not seized) and needs a
strip-down. Does anybody know of a decent mechanic capable of doing
either/both jobs, handy for the Herts/Beds border?

Tbh, I'm well out of touch now and not really geared up for this sort of
spannering these days - wouldn't even attempt the NS in any case....

    TIA

How about I fix the NS for you, and take the Trident as payment?

Do you have any more info other than 'blown up'?

Sounds like a plan, if you make a good job of it I'll throw in the 101 Scout
as well - no good to me, it's LH drive....

No, I wasn't on it - lost power, belched smoke and oil appeared where it
shouldn't and slowed to a stop, I gather!

It looks fine and turns over OK (wheezes), so I don't think it's anything
too dire like valves or rods &c....

Nah not really interested in 'merkin iron - I've always wanted a T150 tho'.
Could be lots of things I 'spose. Probably at least a top end strip
    required.

I doubt either of your problems would be particularly cheap if you had
to pay someone pahnd notes for the work. Send me e-mail if you are
serious - I would quite like a project.

I'm no professional but have done various jobs on my own bikes - most
recent was a new gearbox and then new alternator (actually much more
involved than it sounds) on a Pan European. I was quoted > 1,000 quid +
parts for the gearbox change alone from a dealer. I have done several
engine rebuilds and ground up restorations on several old Brits. (Some
    'ere might call them SOB's, I don't)
