Bush Inaugural

  1. Does anyone else wonder why Prez Bush, doesN't ''skip his $40Million+''
    second celebration, called Presidential Inaugural.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    This time around he could really set an example for all Americans, and
    Skip it. He could say, I want all donations to go to a fund to help the
    ''widows/children'' of the fallen soldiers in Iraq. He could say, I
    want all doners, to donate the same amount, but not to my big party, but
    to the financially struggling Famlies of the Troops, who are over there.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Oh No, he woudnt dare be a little different, he's gotta bejust like em'
    all, and take the big Corporations Money, and to hell with the soldiers
    he sent to that sandyHellHole Iraq. I dont see how they all live with
    themselves, to dine and dance, while our kids are over there, dodging
    those 'back packed', car bombing, suicidal maniacs, whom, literally,
    Hate all Americans. bjay

    Tsk, Tsk, Tsk....Bjay, don't you know that the Iraqis love us over there?
    It's all those "foreigners" that keep causing all the problems.

    Wait a minute, WE ARE THE FOREIGNERS!!!

    What was it that Rumsfeld was saying? I get so confused...

    They bitch now because their Candidate lost and they hate to be reminded of
    it big time because of the TV coverage and etc on that day.

    Actually, I seem to recall the other side "bitching" when Bill Clinton was
    afforded money to build a library....something all Presidents are afforded.
    And we weren't even at war or had troops in harms way which weren't being
    equiped properly because of "budget constraints".

    Go back to your welfare checks and leave the thinking to the responsible
    people.

    0 no, of course none of the 2nd term guys have ever done such a
    rediculous thing.
    I just felt like posting such a topic, to see how many others will
    bitch. The morning I read that in my paper, I said, why can't one dern
    President, think about how much that big ol' dern inauguaral party cost,
    and what better way to spend it,than on the struggling military
    families..... that's all!

  7. hey, they have their priorities. a tremendous natural disaster wasn't
    on any of the briefing plans for W during vacation. Karl Rove
    undoubtedly pointed out that less than 1% of the victims voted for him;
    since there's no political damage, faggedaboudit.

    of course, corporate monies going to Super Bowl advertising should now
    be diverted to relief efforts..... (good luck with that, too)

    don't we have people, homes and infrastructure in Florida still
    recovering from the hurricanes this year ? what about them? could they
    use an extra $15 million? maybe more?

    i will donate twice as much money to tsunami relief as i received in
    public assistance, charity and international aid when hurricane alicia
    blew apart galveston a few years ago. anyone got change for a penny?

    No welfare checks here.

    Any way, tradition will continue on Inaugural Day and the Demos know that
    they would be doing same thing, big time partying and etc,. on the same day
    if their candiate had won.

    So lump it, losers.

    You're quoting misinformation from sources with questionable motives.

    That "contribution" ONLY accounts for the money funneled through a
    single UN program. It doesn't consider all the other contributions the
    US makes (either directly, through other programs, or via private
    contributions).

    http://www.heritage.org/Research/TradeandForeignAid/wm630.cfm

    "Data from the OECD reveal that the U.S. gave nearly $2.5 billion in
    emergency and distress relief in 2003.[6] All other countries combined
    gave $3.4 billion, including $475 million from France and $350 million
    from Norway. Moreover, the U.S. contributed nearly 70 percent of all
    food assistance."

    "The United States is a major donor to international relief
    organizations, including the U.N. Office for the Coordination of
    Humanitarian Affairs, which Egelund oversees, to which the U.S. is
    second largest donor (nearly 14 percent in 2003).[7] America is the
    largest contributor to the U.N. budget at 22 percent, or $317 million,
    in 2004. It gives over 56 percent of the World Food Program budget and
    $72 million and $94 million to the Food and Agriculture Organization
    and the World Health Organization, respectively.[8]"

    and more - read the link and referenced in the article.

    A wrong choice of words... but I thought "regurgitating" was a little
    too confrontational.
    Not "afraid". Just exercising a personal choice.

    Damn.. Morgan.. that's strong.. LOL.. We don't see eye to eye on quite a few
    things, but it seems like we've got more in common than we think.. hmmm..
    That's not to say that you are one of my favorite people on this group,
    that's just to give credit where it is due..

    The "image" that Mark Johnson would like to project, isn't the "real"
    person.. that becomes more apparent with time.. You tend to get pretty
    tough, for a lady.. Can't help but admire that quality..My opinion of you
    and Albert Nurick has been enhanced considerably these past few weeks..

    It has everything to do with it. Insisting on looking at one narrow
    area where the US contributes and then complaining that it's not
    enough is like wearing blinders. The total picture is that the US is
    far from the "cheap skates" that all these stories are trying to imply.
    You get pretty pissy when the facts contradict your perceptions, eh?

  17. Even now, there was more spent on counties in florida that were NOT
    effected by the three recent hurricanes than has been pleged to all of
    the countries suffering from the recent devistation.

    Seems the only way the US can show itself is as a warring nation
    rather than a caring nation. Fucking bush.

    For the most part, yes they are Demos.
    His choice and I have not really seen or read any outcry other than this
    news group. It is called tradition.
    Name calling like that is not really a good way to try to win people over to
    your line of thinking.

    Where does that 40 million figure come from and is the money all govt money
    or is a lot of provate fuinds being spent.

    Another really good question: What does that topic have to do with TX
    Motorcycles.

    I don't believe Morgan (or I for that matter) was trying to "win you over"
    to anything. Just simply pointing out how screwed up your thinking
    is....even for a welfare dependent republican nut job.
    The estimate is just what the tax payers are footing for the party and
    parade. It doesn't include security and other neat things like tear gas and
    rubber bullets used on tax payers who show up and don't like what they see.
    In other words, you just had your ass handed to you by two people who don't
    like each other....and like you even less.

    I don't like Michael Moore either. If he and I were in the same room
    together, we'd never agree on anything other than we don't like George W.
    Bush or what he's done to this country.

    With that being said, he HAS done some good work in the movies and caused
    the republican nut-jobs to have to turn out in record force to keep that
    crap we have in Washington in place.
    And if I'm not mistaken, that 15 million dollars is "pledged" for US
    contractors. Am I mistaken here? I wonder which US contractors?
    We see eye to eye on more and more things lately. Hmm. I have to wonder if
    these Tsunamis have anything to do with us agreeing? I wonder what might be
    next?

    Perhaps I need to start arguing semantics?

    Okay, here it goes:
    Saying this? What the heck is that? You're wrong! You're just plain WRONG!!!

    I don't wanna discuss it anymore!!!
    Always? Is that a real word? I don't think so!
    Demand? You're supposed to be nice and ask!
    You have to stop eventually!!!

    </conflict>

    Now, maybe we kept Houston or Dallas from being engulfed in locust???
