I was at Buttonwillow yesterday, and managed to burn my foot. Not in the
expected "the pipe is hot" way, but from the footpeg.

The aluminum engine conduct heat very well to the aluminum frame, which
conducts heat well to the aluminum footpegs. The pegs get bastard hot,
and my Sidis have thin soles...

Any ideas / suggestions on avoiding this next time?

  2. Mr.RC45's rear bank of cylinders use to shed unbearable heat to my
thighs and to the seat... I employed one of those kelvar aluminum heat
blankets drag racers use and custom fitted it around the cylinders...
this trick greatly reduced the amount of heat coming off the engine...
perhaps a similar shield might manage the unwanted heat from your frame???

What you need is a thin layer of a less-conductive material between
your frame and your footpeg assembly. With metal to metal contact the
heat conduction is at it's most efficient.
