I’ve just returned from my shift at the SP to discover that one of the
girls that worked in the tea shed was involved in a fatal last night
not too far from the SP.

She was pillion on a Fireblade that apparently got clipped by a
single-decker bus just by the Church (after the 60 limit, on the r-h-s,
for those that know it), causing the bike to lose control, her helmet
came off and she suffered head injuries that were fatal by the time she
arrived by Air Ambulance at the Royal in Preston (unfortunately she was
just over the border, or she would’ve been taken to a closer hospital).

It was only a couple of weeks ago she took me into the back of the SP
to proudly show me the 125 she had bought to pass her test on while she
was waiting for somewhere closer to home to house it, very proud of it
she was, and looking forward to taking her test.

I’m feeling a bit down about it atm, but one of the guys in the pub put
it into context….she knew the risks when she got on the back of the
bike, the kids and others in Russia had no choice in what has happened
    to them.

Either way up, she still leaves 3 children due to an accident that
(possibly) shouldn’t have happened. I suppose the subsequent court
procedures will try to establish the why’s and wherefores of what
happened and who was to blame, but I don’t hold out much trust in their
    judgement after my past experience.

    RIP Samantha.

The bus clipped the blade on the RHS of the road, or something else?

It's not completely clear to me having re-read.

Well, as you don't know the road..

Leave the Scotch turning left onto Southport Road, enter the 60 limit
very (very!) shortly after. Not too far along there is a church on the
r-h-s. The bike was on the l-h-s (where it should have been) but the
bus didn't stay on it's side of the road and clipped the rear wheel of
    the 'blade.

Given that the rider of the 'blade perhaps shouldn't have been so close
to the white line between the two lanes is a moot point really. [1]

My apologies for any confusion, I wrote it in a manner assuming others
    knew the road.

[1] All these things will be taken into account, the road was closed
for a while as the Police did their duties in measuring up, etc.

Anyway, having re-read I was referring to the bloody church being on
the r-h-s of the road in the vicinity of the accident for those that
    might know the area.

Don't go getting me bloody confused!
