I'll have you know that this was the third Sunday running I've had it
    running.

also - the Suzuki *started*. 4th kick. It last turned a wheel in May
    2001.

Not my cup of tea but it certainly looks original and would polish up
nicely. I reckon it'll go for over £2500, maybe nearer £3000.

I have a feeling that Guzzi prices [1] are going to start climbing - not
to insane levels though - as, IMO, they've always been under priced.

[1] For the right, original, seventies machines and not heaps of
    shit, obviously.

  8. Blimey.

had the SOBoxer out for a play on Sunday. It's down on power and has valve
rattle like a bloody vincent. I guess I ought to do the valve clearances,
at least. It's also burning oil on the right pot, which probably means the
    valve guides are getting tired.

or the valve guide seals have hardened with age, especially if its been
parked on the side stand a lot

  11. Not sure it has any. Book makes no mention of such...

book also says frightening things about replacing 'em, including heat the
cylinder head to 250°C and that to remove 'em, you have to machine the top
off the old one to get the retaining clip off it, then drift it out, press
in a new one (with the head still hot) and then, once it's cooled, ream to
    the correct size.

I think that lot adds up to paying someone else to do it...

Speaking of which, how's the shed-on-wheels auction going?

  15. if you refer to my auction for a fine, sought-after vehicle...

's up to 1010 as of a recent glance, with 9-and-a-bit hours to go. Also a
couple of people who conatcted me have not bid, one at least sounded
interested and was interested enough to phone up and discuss it for quite a
    while.

    summink like 48 watchers.
