"I was just cleaning it and it went off." I wonder how busy the Mway was? Not very likely an intended target on a bike was being chased and caught by a car; also unlikely the car was waiting in the traffic stream for that particular biker. I suspect it was a random shooting or somebody with a grudge against the HA or bikers in general. It isn't easy to hit road signs at speed FFS never mind something that is also moving. It would be easier with a shotgun but I'm not sure it would penetrate a good helmet. Then again if he was HA it would be open face and Bandana and he probably turned to look at the other vehicle ;o)
I'd assume if you were trying to shoot somebody you'd do so as a passenger from a vehicle alongside, whist the driver matches speed and direction.[1] At worst it'd be the case of trying to hit a target that's moving no more than a few mph faster or slower, ideally at a range of a few feet. Road signs would be more difficult than that, cause the speed differential would be higher.

Well, he was a biker so one can assume it was a slow old crate he was riding. The car was a Rover 620 which was probably faster than the bike. I can't believe this. Maybe it's me but I don't understand random killings.
Latest on BBC News 24 is it's a suspected deliberate hit. He was on a Harley, so the car wouldn't have had much difficulty.
I only just found out, whilst reading the various HA articles related to this inciden,t that riding a Harley is a prerequisite for HA membership.
I saw that. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/coventry_warwickshire/6946346.stm Very odd. -- Dave GS850x2 XS650 SE6a Teach a man to fish and he and his pikey mates will have the river cleaned out in a day.
I had to go into my bank on Friday to get cash (whilst waiting for replacement cards to arrive) and the girl behind the counter was stunning. I went to get some more cash today (cards arrived, but no replacement pin yet) and it was her again. It took far longer to get the cash than was strictly necessary because I was having a grand time chatting with her.
He should have been making progress. Fast is safe. If you're travelling slowly enough to be tailed by an old Rover, you might as well be dead.
Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, Grimly Curmudgeon I see from that article that he was a Canadian. Wasn't it a Canadian who was shot in the leg on the M40 a year or two back, on the way home from the Bulldog Bash? LoL I went to a Blues bash on a new (Blue) K100RT one fine day in Bellshill. If I hadn't been there with the Sergeant at Arms and another founding member I'd have been gang raped. The naked desire to strip it for spares was palpable.
The Guzzi gets through Bridgestones - the front nearly wear at the same rate as the rear. Metzlers seem to be holding up well; now up to the 4000 miles I normally get from BT45 rears.
