Why not just add "-- " (without the quotes) to the line above so that it gets dropped automatically when someone replies? It's not hard.
I've got my test next Friday, so 4 days of DAS from Monday; there's a PDF of the test which looks useful. Chapter 2 http://www.dsa.gov.uk/Form.asp?id=SXDF83-A77FEAE8 OT Also found this today, Dick and Dom & a pushy parent, Morning Wood on a Dom Wood's T-shirt, also somewhere a murderer complaining about a tv special on him, and the "who said ****" game. http://www.ofcom.org.uk/bulletins/prog_cb/obb25/?a=87101 http://www.ofcom.org.uk/bulletins/prog_cb/pcb_20/adjudications/walsh.pdf http://www.ofcom.org.uk/bulletins/prog_cb/
Having read that, I'm not so worred about re-taking my test. It appears that they give you a lot of chances to get things right. For example, I was scared that putting a foot down during a U-Turn would be an instant failure, however: "If, on the other hand, the rider dabs a foot down in a moment of apprehension and then completes the exercise, the fault should be assessed as only a driving fault." They're are a bit more human after all! I hope you do well on your DAS! I think the idea is that you don't rush as the examiner isn't expecting a fantastic ride, or even a good one - they expect a complete novice. They just want a safe ride. --Nick.
It'll take a bit of getting used to. I need to redesign my sig, it's changed so much over the last few years. Big ASCII sigs, those were the days. Hoho, a 1998 flashback: "" -- icq: _ _ _ _ _ _ _ --=(UDIC)=-- 9235201 | \| (_)__| |/ / | \/ |___ ___ _ _ __ _ _ -United | \ | / / | | / o \ o \ ' \/ _\ | | Kingdom- |_|\_|_\__\_|\_\ |_||_\___/___/_||_|__|_ | "I don't paritcally don't find it that" - Deans_| | -- (07666) 813587 |___| http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Lair/5030/ "" Right. I really should go to bed before I make a bigger arse of myself. Right, on topic: I'm going GEAR SHOPPING tomorrow. Helmet, etc. Take care all,
It wasn't something that I had ever done before. It was purely because of the way I was feeling while I was doing the test. I was rushing. Failing a riding test doesn't save a life. However, next time I have a test I will take it in a more relaxed way. --Nick.
Sounds like it's a good job you failed. Probably saved your life. -- Paul. CBR1100XX SuperBlackbird BOTAFOT #4 BOTAFOF #30 MRO #24
On all of my "mock" tests I was fine. This manouver was the one that worried me the most apart from the U-Turn, and I was so desperate to get it right that I neglected to look where I was going(!) - thankfully the car was quite a way off, and only had to slow down slightly. In The Real World I'd have made better use of observation, but on a test I just had "Oh my God I've got to get this right" running through my head which clouded my judgement. My instructor even commented, upon seeing my Fail sheet (Seven minors and two majors) that all the time I had been riding that day he could only have given me one minor, which was for a signal. I'm annoyed that I didn't pass, but understand the reasons for it. I will just relax more.
Good luck with it. I wasn't being negative, but you must admit, it does sound like you're not *quite* ready for the big bad motorcycling world (says the bloke who hardly ever throws a leg over his bike these days). -- Paul. CBR1100XX SuperBlackbird BOTAFOT #4 BOTAFOF #30 MRO #24
