Some of you may or may not remember my accident back in July
    http://groups.google.co.uk/groups?h...uk.rec.motorcycles.*&scoring=d&start=150&sa=N

    or rather http://tinyurl.com/69ebp

Then for ages, heard bugger all from anyone other than a visit last month
from plod to inform me that they were looking at doing me for Driving
    without due care and attention.

Anyway, guess what, fucking summons has arrived this morning along with the
statements of the witnesses :-( Ive not had a chance to read them yet, will
be as soon as ive posted this.

So, two things strike me immediately.
    1. I would have thought that this should have been a recorded delivery
rather than being shoved through the letterbox?

    2. Silly cunts have written:
    <fx:quote>
On 04.07.2004 at Bedford drove a mechanically propelled vehicle, namely
m'cycle, Lambretta Scooter LSL976, on a road, namely Newnham Avenue, without
due care and attention Contrary to Section 3 of the Road Traffic Act 1988
and Schedule 2 to the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988.
    <fx:unquote>

The reason i say silly cunts is that i have told them now 3 times that the
reg number is wrong! It's 970 not 976 FFS.

So, what effect will that have, i don't even know what vehicle LSL 976 is,
could be a bloody morris minor for all i know, how could i have been guilty
    of that then eh?
I dont suppose anyone has a link to that site that you can enter a reg and
find out what sort of vehicle it belongs to?
I'd love to know, and yes ive googled but cant find it :-(

Just hope the mag. isn't 70 to 75 year old with cancer, with a tendency
    to frequent supermarket carparks.

  6. If you have a decent brief, he *might* work that.

"PC Plod, can you recall the registration nuimber of the vehicle?"

    'Of course.'

    "Let's hear it."

    'XYZ'

    "Are you sure?"

    'Absolutely'

Repeat ad nauseam to drive the point home, and then hit him with the
fact that it's the wrong registration and should be a black motorcycle.

One discredited piece of police evidence....

    Paging JP!

  7. I tried that in an interview recently and the cunts still charged me.

It was a different offence but the point is the same.

  8. Ermmmmmm.... but did you try it in a courtroom, rather than a charge
    room?

  14. The other day?

The "incident" happened in October. Of course, the "incident" never
happened and innocent 'till proved guilty means **** all, obviously. The
word of one old bag against mine basically, but if they want to waste
the court's time and tax payers money on a trial, then I must go along
    with it.

It makes no difference - it may be the police officer has the number right,
but the person who typed summons out read the number wrong. The officer may
have the number wrong - it makes no difference - in court the prosecution
will apply to have the number amended, which will be done.

Exactly this happened with me in court two weeks ago - person only pleaded
not guilty to going through a no entry as he thought I'd got the reg no.
    wrong.

  18. Oh no, Stuey old boy. It's much better than that. For reasons of not
fucking myself up, I'll not divulge but a good effort on your part.
This is one persons word against mine. It shouldn't even be going to
    court.
