    .... the seat, that is.

The wife managed to snag her boot on the seat as she was getting off the
bike (Blackbird) this morning, and now there's a small (1/4 inch) triangular
shaped tear in the covering. I don't know if it could be easily repaired or
not, so I'm after ideas to stop water getting in and/or the tear getting
bigger. At the moment, the best I can come up with it black duct tape, which
is going to look a bit shit, or Araldite under the fabric and a black marker
    pen on top.

    Any better solutions?

Ebay - there's nearly always a seat on auction - prices from around
    £20.

  3. Bit of black vinyl carefully tucked under the tear and Araldite. Temporarily
    at least.

Then peel her scalp off & use it to repair the seat.

There's a glue called Vinylweld, which I've used in the past, to great
effect. There are also patch kits for air beds, li-los, etc, available
from camping shops. These include a variety of patch material and some
    vinyl glue.

Re: Your gaffer tape suggestion. I did this for about two months
until it fell off, now there is an unmovable white square mark on the
seat which I imagine is the glue from the gaffer tape. I doubt it'll
    ever come out.
