Buells ?

anyone had any experience with Buells at all ?

I heard that they were over-priced crap?
That's the extent of my experience.

 

A friend had one, and I have test ridden a few.

The early one's had some quality control issues. The vibration causes
loosened fasteners (if you have owned a Norton Commando you will know what I
mean).

A hoot to ride, expensive for what you get (but you do get to join a Hog
club if that's your thing) lots of low down grunt, quick steering.

Alternatives any large bore naked bike, Ducati Monster (superior in my view)
etc.

friends got one...x1 lightening? - blue anyway
the race kit makes a huge difference to performance
goes fast...specially round mountains
sits up real easy
eats tyres
not for long distance touring - by owners admission
dont seem to require a lot of maintenance...for a harley
mix of imperial and metric fasteners
shop around for parts or you WILL get ripped off

I think one of the Jap V twin sport bikes makes much more
sence...especially if you don't do your own mechanicking
