  8. Oh yeah, they're still around, except that few bike shops stock them
these days. Fishing tackle shops do, AFAIK.

I've ridden and raced in them without any leaks.

Must be my feet then, 'cos they all leaked across the top of the foot.
All I do is commute and occasionally play at weekends.
Mind you, they were the old style Evos. The current pair of new style
Evos only leak when it's a downpour. But a wet foot is a wet foot!

I don't think he'd be listening out for seals at that point

No, more likely listening out for the keeper.

I was having another look round last night and remembered the Altberg
    site, which I'd forgotten about.

I know this a 180 to the subject, but I'm chucking alternatives round
    all the time

Given that I was considering Pro Boots, originally, I thought I'd take
a look at what they had to offer at a similar price (£120 ish new,
from a retailer). I found the Hogg all weather at £125, factory price.
The microlite version is £130. All less p&p

Some of the military ones appear suitable, too.

As these are something I could get away with in the office - I could
    stretch to that price.

Richmond would be a nice trundle, even in the car, I suppose.
