No I know, and I wasn't expecting him to match it. I gave him the
chance to match his competitors and instead of declining it I had it
verbally thrown back in my face.

I won't be bothering again. After being promised last time "[the
BT010s will] be in tomorrow" for three days running, then it changing
to "they'll not be in for months, they're unavailable" the next day
    they've lost a customer.

  4. It can be annoying though. You set up a business, work out what you need
to charge to make a profit whilst being competitive (hopefully) and
someone comes along and says "It's 10p cheaper down the road". The
temptation to say "Well **** off down the road then" is very strong.

Well, I don't know, but why bother even going back there if you've been
fucked about before? If they had matched the price, would Chris still
have used them even after a bad experience? Sounds like a no-brainer to
    me (excuse the americanism).

Yes, I would, and it was about the attitude. It wasn't full-on ****
off, but it wasn't a plain "I'm not willing to match". Ok, it's 5% of
the total cost (to me) but I didn't see it as too large an amount to
haggle over or too small that I'm taking the piss.

I would go back as I've had sterling service and advice when I first
started going there. Tony made a tyre recommendation that saved me
money and worked well with the bike and my riding. On the strength of
that I recommended them whenever I got chance.

Over the years the service was good, until the 010s cockup. I'm
willing to accept that everyone makes the odd mistake, so after trying
a few other places I'd see if it was a one-off incident or the new
standard of normal service. Unfortunately it seems to be the latter.
