That's scary. Brings back memories of a hi-voltage cap I replaced in a
printer power supply once. Metal cylindrical can with an oval profile, about
150 mmm high and 75 wide. At least that was the shape of the replacement.
The one I took out was a sphere.

This was in a drum printer, 3000 line per minute job. Earplugs anone?

We're all stupid, Smee. That's why the planet is in such a sorry
    state.

I'm not old. I'm insufficiently youthful.

    Episode? :)

Form an orderly queue for your workers comp (hearing loss) claim forms!

Chain printers, and the bloody sound proofing hoods made it impossible
to feed paper, not to mention getting the bits off for ribbon changes ...

OTOH laser printers in enclosed offices:
Form an orderly queue for your workers comp (cancer) claim forms!

    Eh? Speak up laddie!

I only worked on these printers for two years before we got earmuffs. To be
fair to my employer, when we went looking for muffs after a very scary
moment, (see below), there was one shop in Perth selling muffs at about half
    a week's wages per pair. Ear-plugs were non-existant.

The scary part:- Mate and I were adjusting a printer with the hood open. I
left it printing "E"s just a little too long with my head under the hood and
lost my sight for about ten seconds. Very, very scary!

Muck fee Theo! Never heard of that happening before. I can understand
the physiology, I'd just like to believe it didn't happen ...
