1) Yukio Kagayama, Suzuki, 1:26.177. 2) Sean Emmett, Ducati, 1:26.230. 3) Gary Mason, Yamaha, 1:26.653. 4) Michael Rutter, Honda, 1:26.722. 5) Tommy Hill, Yamaha, 1:26.767. 6) John Reynolds, Suzuki, 1:26.818. 7) Dean Thomas, Ducati, 1:26.872. 8) James Haydon, Yamaha, 1:27.152. 9) John McGuinness, Hawk Kawasaki, 1:27.460. 10) Noriyuki Haga, Ducati, 1:27.552. 11) Leon Haslam, Ducati, 1:27.564. 12) Scott Smart, Hawk Kawasaki, 1:27.609. 13) Craig Coxhell, Honda, 1:27.614. 14) Iain MacPherson, Ducati, 1:27.852. 15) Jon Kirkham, Suzuki (P), 1:27.900 Well look at that. Yukio on pole with a very recently plated collar bone. The Yamahas finally finding some speed. Reynolds 2 weeks after a broken collarbone. John McGuiness fresh from a record TT lap hasn't forgotten how to do short circuit racing. And Nori+Haslam nowhere. Nori doesn't like Brands much but he's raced here quite a few times. It is Sean Emmett's home circuit. Even though Xaus and Hodgeson struggled on the 999 last year, you have to think that 1.25s between Sean and Nori is mostly Dunlops vs Pirellis. And I'm a bit surprised to see Rutter 1/2 a second back from Yukio. Rutter's been coming here for years as has the team and tyre company. The factory Honda on Michelins ought to work well. Coxhell is on an underfunded, privateer, home built CBR1000 on Pirellis. To be that close to Nori and Haslam is quite an achievement.
