BSA fork rebuild

Discussion in 'Classic Motorbikes' started by antony.adshead, Jun 29, 2005.

  1. Greetings from a new un here, I'm just starting to restore a 1969 BSA
Victor Special and the first major job I'm planning is to rebuild the
    forks.

Has anyone else here had done this? Apart from new seals, bushes etc
    what's likely to need attention?

Also, I see you can get fork upgrade kits
    http://www.norbsa02.freeuk.com/goffyfork.htm and wondered whether these
    are worth the extra dosh?

The fork springs are likely to be a bit saggy after all these years, so
I'd budget for replacing these too.
    Yes, absolutely.
