Spent all the beat officer money on planes choppers and automobiles to
    patrol vehicular speed limits

Greenpeace's Emma Gibson told Sky "The government should be going back
to the drawing board and looking at how to meet our energy needs and cut our
carbon emissions. That's not going to be through nuclear power. It's through
updating our energy system and increasing our use of renewables."

    That's codespeak y'see

Oh right. Perhaps in future you could either stick to real-speak or
provide word-for-word translations for the rest of us. Unfortunately
many people are not blessed with your ability to see words that are
    not there.

Was it not a fairly obvious and wry side swipe at the assholes in
    Greenpeace?

In this action they are raising further huge but pointless costs of
    administration.
They would like to reduce generating capacity significantly
Many of them, and I believe we agree on this, are luddites who wish to take
us back to a forgotten "Golden Era"

I was in Greenpeace 20 years ago and CND 28 years ago when they were
    slightly less lunatic fringe IMHO

But if you reduce generating capacity, surely you'll need storage for when
demand exceeds production. I think they (whoever "they" are) need to give
that some thought, as batteries aren't going to do it.
Was that around the time they were sinking ships in Australia?

Greenpeace - lunatic fringe? Your inconsistency leads me to surmise
you are trolling again, Stewart. Everything being relative, I'll give
you an example of 'environmental' lunatic fringe: Paul Watson.

He was one of three founding members of Greenpeace, but left/was
kicked out in 1977 to found the Sea Sheperds, a more 'confrontational'
organisation. He referred to his ex-colleagues in Greenpeace as "The
Avon ladies of the environmental movement" before he went on to claim
that Sea Shepherds had *sunk* ten whaling boats at sea.

His ships have concrete-filled bows for ramming purposes and the names
of ships sunk are painted across them. He flies the skull and
crossbones and hurls butyric acid at crewmen on boats he attacks.

That, Sir Hog, is lunatic fringe.
