Brrr!

The thermometer on my front porch registered 24F degrees, at 7:00 AM this
morning. Brrr! I had gotten up to let the dog out, let the little beast
back in, then I crawled back under the covers, where Joe was keeping my
place warm. That's when I heard it: The approaching thrum of a V-twin, the
stepping up of gears and the roar off into the distance.
Now THAT is dedication! Or stupidity, or... Anyway, I hope that whoever was
riding in the fridged morning air, was bundled up good and that he gets to
wherever he's going, ok. I've been there. Never felt so cold in my life,
as when Joe and I headed out on a frosty Nov. morning, headed to San
Antonio, to see our daughter and her family, for Thanksgiving. We had to
stop at a cafe every 30 miles, to get a cup of java and thaw our frozen
faces, fingers and knees. Of course, by the time we got to the Alamo City,
    we were burning up. <g>

Which reminds me, the Graham Toy Run is on Dec. 3rd. I can only hope we get
a heat wave, on that Saturday. ;)

    Y'all ride safe, stay warm!

‘‘ Sunny Gal,we got us one each of those 'face mask like deals',
they really are nice. I want one with a skeltons face on it. I think
they look bad, when worn by a Biker, which also has his/her helmet on.
AFA the Toy Run, we like it when it is colder than a witches nose, so we
can Leather up for sure. Oh yeah, Honey might be ridin' her own this
    year, man!’’

You must be talking about _balaclavas_. Those things like the "ninjas"
wear. ;) Joe and I have those now but at the time, we didn't.
I did however, have on a fleece lined Snoopy Cap and a thick knitted scarf,
that wrapped around my neck and face. That helped but my face still got
cold. I remember at the time, I was wishing I had a FF helmet on but then
the shield might have been so foggy, I wouldn't have been able to see. That
has happened with my 3/4 with shield.

As for the Toy Run, I just checked Joe's schedule and he will be working
that day. If it's terribly cold, they'll have to hold the run without me
too! I just can't deal with *cold* rides any more. It isn't fun if I'm
having to suffer. Around 50 degrees is my limit now. But you two have fun
on your toy runs. I'm sure your Mrs. will do just fine. :)

‘‘okay, I know what you call the _balaclavas_ I looked it up
in Whitney,(grin). We have those also. But, the mask I was referring to
is called Neoprene Face Mask. It fits a lot better to the face, almost
like a full Batman mask, if you can imagine that?. The neoprene is
pretty thick, say 1/8 and fairly rigid. I'm gonna order me the black &
white one, with a Skull face,$9.95! Theres also one with a clown
face..Sunny they are nice, they have a nose breathing area, and mouth.
For years I only wore a regular bandana, bank robber style,
    <grin>!!’’ (Bjay)!
