Broken speedo & tacho needles

I just stuffed my '92 DR650 into the dirt (front end washed out - must
remember to turn after front wheel on ground, not before!).
The damage is restricted to a few more scratches on the plastics but both
the speedo & tacho needles have snapped off!
Does anyone know if I can replace just them or do I have to get a whole
    instrument cluster?
    Thanks,
    Deano

  2. In terms of ordering from Suzuki, you'll only get the unit as a whole,
you wont be able to buy just the needles. You could possibly source
one from a wreckers, even it if wasnt working just to butcher it for
the needles but the simplest and probably cheapset solution will be to
buy a bicycle computer, program it up and use it for your speedo. I
dont think theres much you can do about the tacho, I think there's some
kind of overgrown bicycle computer that might do the whole show for you
    but I'm not sure.

open it up and glue some toothpicks in place... bit of flouro paint
    won't go astray either.

Look for an instrument repair/calibration company (Tenix comes to mind)
that repairs industrial guages etc they should be able to replace the
needles and recalibrate the tacho and the speedo.
Probably won't need to take out a second mortgage like you would to buy
    the instruments from Suzuki.

Is this the same mob that maintains speed cameras?

When you say, broke the needles off,
Does that mean the little netal shafts/posts the needles sat on were snapped
    off ?
    or,
The plastic needles popped off of those little metal shafts and may be re
    attached ?

Could be as easy as that ?

Needles snapped off just past the small disc that pops onto the shaft - can
still see the bottom fifth of the needle on that disc and sort of line it up
with the markings to get a general idea.
Looks like glue initially, them try the instrument mobs like VDO.
    Thanks for the replies.

If you say so, but it's certainly not a capability listed on their
    website,

    http://www.tenix.com.au/Main.asp?ID=20
Divisions include defence, anzac shipbuilding, aviation etc no
instrument division (unless it comes under aviation, but if so it's not
    specifically listed)

Products include all sorts of military and aviation paraphenalia.

You sure it was Tenix ?

(unless of course you're in the armed forces and you got a favour done
    by someone)

Tenix is Transfield. Wog company, can't work there unless
you're a wog or your brother is a wog. Boats, submarines,
tunnels, roads, bridges, shit like that. When someone figures
out a way to make a finely calibrated instrument when the
smallest tool in your toolbox is a five pound hammer, then
Tenix will have a go at it. Up until then, I have me doubts.
