I drove my new (to me) Mk1 Clio V6 (as any caristi will know, a car with a
bit of a repuation for exciting handling...) along one of those roads the
other day, in the rain heh.

Why are all the distances in km, when we work in miles in this country?

Also, bang goes all the good roads as they'll be copper infested now.

  4. Because they are trying to reprogram the yoof. If enough people get
used to using kilometres[1] then there will be less outcry when we
    finally ditch the mile[2].

[1] I'm quite happy to already. Far better than that bizarre mile
    measurement..
    [2] Tomorrow please.

I've seen a few road signs placed at metric distances so it will be
easier to switch from miles when the time is right, e.g. 0.3m, 0.6m etc.

We'll be in gridlock by then, so it'll just be a case of dodge right
instead of dodge left when you meet a bike using the white line in the
    opposite direction.

The move to driving on the right is going to be fun....

Just stage it like the Irish plan to. Cars try it for a week, and if
that goes ok then commercial vehicles follow the week after.

And apart from being "dangerous", they're fucking entertaining.

The Kirby Lonsdale one already is. The **** who rammed his Land Cruiser into
a dry stone wall was thankful though.

No it won't. I tried it on my way home from work, bloody awful it was.
