Taken last August for an abortive ebay auction. It'll be even
smarter-looking when I fit the replacement exhaust.

    <sticks neck on block>

    Six hundred?

Seven gets you everything else thrown in - "spare"[1] tank, panels,
tail, carbs, barrels, cases, crank, pistons, plus new brake pads
shoes, cables (throttle and choke), a couple of alternator brushes,
spare carbs bits: jets etc, workshop manuals, parts catalogue and any
    mag references I can find.
Hundred and sixty. For 225 you can have a similar deal to above,
including a NOS fuel tank, and all the TS185 paraphernalia[2] you can
carry. Including wheels/tyres. Forks are leaky.

[1] i.e. potentially salvageable. Possibly. Bodywork definitely is.

[2] shagged motor, swing arm, lock set, spare bars, levers, cables,
    etc.

If, (and I appreciate that it's a big if) you're still interested,
I'll compile a complete list at the weekend.

No, no. I want to look at the money and give it a little stroke just
    before it fucks off again.

    I call this "budgeting".

Look at it this way: even I would struggle to drop a valve shim into
    either of those engines.

    <thinks>

Having said that, I've just come up with a plausible scenario...

No way I'd buy that without an MOT.

    What are the leccy problems?

NS400. Jap model. A few bits nicked for my 500 (like the screen and seat
lock and a few other bits. Inferior replacements available). MoT. Good
engine. Alleged Swarbrick pipes that appear to be std headers and new
spannies etc. Shit size wheels and tyres. Good for 120mph all day @ 25ish
    mpg.

    £500

Go on. You could fit it in the blingmobile's top box as the runaround once
    you've dropped anchor....

Oh, bollocks, they've got three for sale.

Silver Z, serviced by Club Tech advisor, looks best.

The black one looks nice, though.

Or maybe the resprayed burgundy one.

Heh. I rode all the way to Harrow last Saturday for an MOT. Five
minutes after it went into the bay I was informed there was a problem.
Turned out nothing, even the idiot lights, were coming on.

Still it was fun watching the two guys from the shop trying to bump it
    down the road :)

I sorted it within two minutes by which stage it was 'too late' to
    carry out an MOT.

    Nice ride home though.

Main fuse at the battery had blown. I have purchased a new inline blade
fuse holder that will be firmly inserted this weekend.
Leccy problem? Nah, time is the problem.

  20. In uk.rec.motorcycles, Wicked Uncle Nigel amazed us all with this pearl
    of wisdom:
You can have mine for a reasonable price. Loads of engineering practice
    opportunities there.

I think there will be a problem with when we deem to be reasonable
    though...
